Walk It Out
How does your neighborhood rate on the walkability scale? Get your hood's Walk Score now! This is such a great use of Google Maps it kills me. Not only does it rate your area, but it shows you all the cool stuff nearby.
My hood rates a 92 out of 100, which fails to take into account minor details like the recent rash of muggings and hold-ups in the area. But still, 92 is pretty damn good!

Thanks for the link to the walk-ability site, although I was disturbed to discover my neighborhood was only a 6 out of 100. Tell it to my dog -- he loves the 'hood.
Yoinks—six?! I was shocked when my San Francisco neighborhood came up as a big fat goose egg, until I realized I wasn't giving the map long enough to load.

well, apparently I'm moving from a 75 to a 62, but it doesn't take a lot of things into account - one of which is that I will happily walk to any place that can be walked to in 45 minutes or less most days. I've spent tons of time in Harvard Square, which is about a half-mile outside of the range.
Still, it's not terrible. And if I'm walking distance to Russo's, I'll be oh so pleased.
